Volker and Valerie Götz are friends of ours. They live nearby with their three girls, who all go to school with our two. Volker is a brilliant architect who was looking to branch out with his own practice.

Volker's 17 years experience includes prestigious mixed use commercial developments like Brindleyplace and Snowhill in Birmingham, and ground-breaking, state-of-the-art facilities that meet shifting needs and economic challenges in the education and public sector.

We sat down one night, over a nice bottle of wine, and conceived the StudioGötz brand. He wanted a look and feel that reflected his own simple yet contemporary design aesthetic.
