New people arrive. New products and services appear. Capabilities grow. Markets shift. Ambitions change. Sometimes the whole direction of a business changes.
But from the outside, it can look pretty much the same.
I see this a lot.
Spend some time looking at a business from the outside, then talk to the people inside it and you can sometimes wonder whether you’re looking at the same organisation.
The website might still be talking about what the business was particularly good at five years ago. LinkedIn might suggest something different. Recruitment might show where it’s heading. Recent investment, new appointments or acquisitions can tell another story again.
That doesn’t necessarily mean there’s anything wrong.
Sometimes looking established and familiar is exactly the point. Sometimes there’s a good reason for keeping things as they are.
And sometimes the business has simply been too busy growing, changing and getting on with things to notice that the brand it presents to the world has been left behind.
That’s worth knowing.
Because if the business has changed, what you say about it probably needs to change too.
I can help with that.
Brand strategy and development is a big part of what I do. And if you’re wondering where to start, I can show you how your business currently looks from the outside.
For free. No strings attached. No questions asked.
It’s called Brand Forensics X: On the Surface. You're welcome!
