Rebranding EIC – a Redditch-based energy management company. Brokers of fixed-rate deals for large consumers of energy as well providing valuable intelligence about this volatile commodity market.
EIC, was acquired by an existing client, Broadfern in April 2007. EIC was the leading player in the market but had lost its way and was losing share. Broadfern was an aggressive player in the market and made the bold step of acquiring EIC, whose brand had become confused, cluttered and bogged down.
EIC operated in a space occupied by sophisticated big brands such as E.on, npower and British Gas. They wanted to 'rub shoulders' with these companies without seeming ‘small-time'. The task was to rebuild the EIC brand from the ground up.
Subsequently acquired by Utilitywise a few years back, EIC changed hands for a considerable chunk of change. I'm sure it was all about the branding. No question.

The intersection of letterforms created a distinctive 'Pulse' mark, which we used as a visual signature throughout the EIC brand system.
